Abstract

SUMMARY

Aim. To study the efficacy of endonasal endoscopic DCR while treating dacryocystitis.

Materials and methods 
19 patients with dacryocystitis underwent a surgery by the method of a endonasal
endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy. All patients in the field of dacryostomy a silicone stent fixed. Full restoration
of patency was observed in 15 patients, 2 patient preserved passive patency after the stent was removed, with the
continuing epiphora.

Conclusions 
Simple and fast technique of endonasal endoscopic DCR, no skin incisions, minimal bleeding,
minor trauma, short term rehabilitation allow using this method as an alternative to external DCR while treating
dacryocystitis.
